I read the book Party by Tom Leveen. I would not recommend this book. I did not like the book it was too confusing. The whole book talked about a different person in every chapter, it was hard to keep up because none of the chapters connected. All the people had different problems, Anthony and Abdul with racism, Ryan being a flirt, Morrigan with her parents, Ashley with nothing really and Josh with Morrigan. All the chapters were all over the place. I read this book kinda fast because I just wanted to get done with. Towards the end everything started to come together and make sense but then I felt like it was too late and the story it was meant to tell took too long to understand and got boring.
There was one thing that kept showing up which was Morrigan being a mean person and Josh’s hate towards her because she broke his heart. It was the only thing that was consistent throughout the book. This eventually made me think that since this was talked about throughout the book something would happen between them. I thought josh was going to kill her eventually because the author wrote, ” Well, we’d need one of us four to sober up to keep Josh from actually killing Morrigan if she showed up . Our conversation about her murder was all bs guy talk, but I know that when a guy gets their heart torn in half, he’s capable of doing a lot of stupid things”(pg60). This made me think that it was foreshadowing Morrigans death. It was actually Abdul who almost died. The book was not good and I wouldn’t recommend it.
